thanks for the quick response surfside…i live in connecticut so we do have decent wind gust from time to time, but i cant install under ground because i live in a apt complex with plenty of lawn area…have any solutions for above ground? id like to make at least a 10’x10′ for the wife to relax under if i get permission to make it in the first place.thanks for any help you can provide

If you are worried about the pergola being sturdy and not rocking at all, the best way is to put the posts in the ground, or on post bases that are drilled into the concrete the way we did it in the video. Five gallon buckets of concrete will get blown away with a strong enough wind.

looks nice but not very sturdy though the man was walking on top with no problems i noticed the pergola rocking a little during assembly. i was thinking of making one myself
(above ground) but was thinkin of the use of 5 gallon buckets of quickcrete for the 4×4/6×6 post ideas?

I think I saw a General Contractor cry once (I swear it was a tear) when the inspector told him to move a pergola that he had just built, because there wasnt proper clearance under the electrical service…

    ‘No-how’? Do you mean knowledge?

We build the kits and ship them for people who do not have the no-how to build it from scratch themselves.
